Morvan Rustique is situated in the regional nature-reserve ‘du Morvan’, in the heart of Burgundy.

The Morvan is a big nature-reserve, characterized by a hilly landscape, springs and creeks, oak-, beech-, and douglasfir-forests, hedges and meadows with charolais-cows and marvelous sights.

The virgin nature is overwhelming with numerous hike-, bike- and ride-routes .
Also for birdspotters and restseekers the Morvan is a true paradise .
You will reach the summit of the ‘Haut-Folin’, with 900 metres the highest mountain of Burgundy, within 9 kilometres from Morvan Rustique. There you can hike endlessly and eventually cross the ‘Gorge de la Canche’ on the way .

Within 5 kilometres from Morvan Rustique France’s biggest archeological site is located; ‘Bibracte’on the ‘Mont Beuvray’( 800 m.). There you can witness (free of entrance) the excavations of the Celtic city of ‘Bibracte’, that once 2000 years ago, inhabited 10.000 people. You must enjoy the fabulous view from the summit of Mont Beuvray or visit the museum.

The beautiful ancient city of Autun with its many Roman remainings is located 20 kilometres from us. In this historic city (the former Augustudonum) with its rich history you can visit the impressive cathedral, go shopping, enjoy a glass of burgundy-wine on a cosy terrace or have a fine meal in one of the many restaurants .
At 45 km’s distance from us you can find the vineyeards of the ‘haut côtes de Baune’. Here you can follow the touristic route ‘rue des grands Crus’ along villages like Meursault and visit one or more of the many caves

or, a little further down the road, visit the famous wine-city of Beane with its also famous ‘Hôtel - Dieu’.

If you like watersports, fishing or swimming, then you’ll enjoy yourself on the big storage-lakes ‘Lac de Pannecière’and ‘Lac des Setton’, appr. 30 km’s from us .
